I AM WHO I AM.

Who has God declared Himself to be?

God replied to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you." God also said to Moses, "Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations." Exodus 3:14-15

I AM Who I AM.
New life begins in recognizing the great I AM.

If someone were to ask you your name what would you say? Here Moses asked God what people should call Him if he went down to rescue God’s people from Egypt.

Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt." But Moses protested to God, "Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?" God answered, "I will be with you. And this is your sign that I am the one who has sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God at this very mountain." But Moses protested, "If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, 'The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,' they will ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what should I tell them?" Exodus 3:10-13

What was His name? I AM WHO I AM. I am. God was declaring His own being. I am—I exist. He exists always…forever.  He also calls Himself Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Yahweh is the name that is transliterated from YHWH. It is sometimes translated as Jehovah or the LORD. Jehovah is also used with other describing words, such as Jehovah-rophe, Jehovah that heals. Still, God wanted to be to be addressed as I AM. That is just who He is. God has existed forever…before time began.

For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen. Romans 11:36

Who do you say that He is? Is He the great I AM to you?

Prayer ~ LORD, I recognize that You are all powerful and You are God. You are the Great I AM to me. May all who hear of You praise You…as the true God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and all of Israel…and of all believers.

Verse of Salvation ~ But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "God is great!" Psalm 70:4
