Who Is The King of Glory?

Prayer – Lord, You are the King of Glory…my Lord and Savior. I worship You.

Open up, ancient gates!
Gates at the Mount of the Beatitudes.
Israel
The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth's foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the LORD's blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty; the LORD, invincible in battle. Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The LORD of Heaven's Armies—he is the King of glory. Psalm 24:1-10

Meditate. Consider the strength and power of the Lord.

The Lord is the creator—and everything belongs to Him. Creator. Imagine nothing…only a void. Then—poof—the earth, seas, stars, plants, animals and people. Created. That takes power! Now who can stand before this powerful Lord God? David is telling us that people whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the LORD's blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. We know that our Heavenly Father can only have pure people standing before Him…and this passage supports that. How do we become pure? Jesus began His ministry calling people to “repent” and turn from their sinful ways. Everyone sins—since Adam. It is part of human nature—but God wants us to repent. With Adam and Eve’s sin, an animal had to be sacrificed, bloodshed, for the forgiveness of their sin—their disobedience towards God. Likewise, for all mankind, there had to be a sacrifice—but continual animal sacrifice was not the answer. Jesus’ sacrifice—dying on the cross—removes our sin forever so that we can be pure and stand before God on His throne in His holy place—heaven. Purity. It can only be achieved through repentance and belief. Purity. Then we will receive the LORD's blessing and have a right relationship with God our savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. He is The King of Glory.

Verse of Salvation ~ So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen. 2 Timothy 2:10

Memory Verse of the Week ~ But now, O Jacob, listen to the LORD who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1
