Prayer – Lord, I trust that You are always with me since
You promised to never abandon me. What a great feeling that is. I recognize
also how powerful You are—creator, protector, healer, teacher, judge, and
savior. This knowledge of You creates joy in my heart! I should never be afraid…since
You powerful and almighty are with me. I not even afraid of death. I am eagerly
awaiting the day that You call all the believers home to be with You and go
with You wherever You go. For now…may knowledge of You and a deepening
relationship with You give us peace and hope.
TIME
For everything there is a season, a time for every
activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and
a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a
time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a
time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to
embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A
time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time
for war and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Meditate. Consider God’s promises in scripture.
TIME
Death is inevitable. We are all born. We
all will die—or at least our bodies will die. Spiritually we will live forever.
There is really no need to be afraid to die, but the time of our death is not
up to us. God chooses. I don’t feel that it is right to for one to take their
own life—although like many others there was a time when I just wanted to give
up. Yet, we have that commandment from God…Thou Shalt Not Kill.
You must not murder.
Exodus 20:13
That includes not killing owns’ own self. Solomon may have
said…there is a time to kill…but he was not referring to murder. He likely was
thinking of killing animals for sacrifice or to be butchered for food. I
understand that people get stressed beyond themselves…and with mental illness
rampant throughout time and very evident now, people forget God’s commandment—if
they ever knew them.
So many people are afraid to die. I’m not one of those people…or
at least I tell myself and others that occasionally. There is a time to die
just as Solomon wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes. Don’t hurry it. We are
responsible to take care of our bodies—and God’s guidance throughout the Bible
gives us instruction, like specific foods—and then He declared that all foods
are permissible when Peter had a vision in Joppa.
When I looked inside
the sheet, I saw all sorts of tame and wild animals, reptiles, and birds. And I
heard a voice say, 'Get up, Peter; kill and eat them.' "'No, Lord,' I
replied. 'I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure
or unclean.' "But the voice from heaven spoke again: 'Do not call
something unclean if God has made it clean.' Acts 11:6-9
God has made us pure, too, with the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus on the cross. To me, that was the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus gave up His sinless life in obedience to His Father’s plan. That shed blood allows us to go into the presence of God, pure and clean. Pure and clean—worthy to stand before the Holy One when we die—which will happen someday. The time is coming, but don’t be afraid. Find hope in Jesus as your Savior. Death is inevitable. There is a time for everything. TIME.
Verses of Salvation ~ But God showed his great love for
us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we
have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly
save us from God's condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored
by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved
through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new
relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
Romans 5:8-11 (Underlined for emphasis.)
Memory Verse of the Week ~ In the
beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis
