Prayer – Lord, wake me up to the reality of Your power and majesty. Show me new things today of Your creation. I want our relationship to be stronger, day by day…so continue to give me hope for tomorrow. Thank You.
O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and infants to
tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you. When I
look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars
you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human
beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower
than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them charge of
everything you made, putting all things under their authority—the flocks and
the herds and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents. O LORD, our Lord, your majestic
name fills the earth! Psalm 8:1-9Sandhill Cranes migrating through West Richland.
God created an amazing variety of birds.
Meditate. Could you sing this Psalm to the Lord?
Have you ever just forgotten to do something? I’m sure you
have…haven’t we all? Well, I forgot to write this blog post. There have been a
few times in the last ten years that I’ve “forgotten” to write a post and have
been up until really late…or until the wee hour hours of the morning. There have also been several times when I've reused or recycles posts from earlier years, but my son helped me rationalize that I deserved a vacation sometimes. I like
best to write early in the morning…after reading several passages of scripture…but
today I was drawn outside while it was still cool to weed those ever-growing
weeds alongside my driveway and then pick blueberries and grapes…and
harvest garlic in my garden. Time to
head for the library for my weekly volunteering contribution in the Friends of
the Library room—and then a busy afternoon reading and just staying awake. I
only have a couple of days until the current book I’m reading is due…and I’m
not even half-way finished! Here I am, remembering my commitment to blog. What
will I say?
God is majestic…and has created an awesome universe. Have
you seen some of the Hubble photographs? It is beyond our imaginations to totally
comprehend the size and vastness of our universe. For now, we can just try to
appreciate how God has created us…in His image…and given us the responsibility
of being in charge of His creation. I think that how we care for the animals of
the world reflects how we honor our Lord God—the creator of all life. Praise our
Lord and Savior for His creativity….and for the relationship that we can have
with Him. Don’t forget…God…His creation…or your relationship with Him.
Verses of Salvation ~ But you must not forget this one
thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand
years is like a day. The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as
some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want
anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 2 Peter 3:8-9
Memory Verse of the Week ~ The heavens proclaim the
glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Psalm 19:1
