Whatever You Do, Do It All for the Glory of God

Prayer – Lord, May all that I do—even all that I think and say…as well as eat…bring glory and honor to You—my Lord and my Savior. Show me what I can do to honor You.

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Don't give offense to Jews or Gentiles or the church of God. I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don't just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. 1 Corinthians 10:31-33

Meditate. Consider how you glorify God.

Worship God...no matter where you are.
Give Him glory.
Honor Him with your thoughts, words, and actions.
Sit under a lone tree and meditate on God.
This lone tree was on a hillside in Israel.

Glory. Glory. Glory. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. …whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. How do you give glory to God? In the Strong’s Lexicon, glory is entry 1391 meaning glorious, honor, praise, dignity and worship. Do you honor God in everything you do? How do you do that? Do you worship God only on Sunday in church…or do you continually worship Him? Do you honor Him by what you think, say, and do? Is part of that “honoring” God done by praising Him—in prayers to Him and in songs sung to Him and about Him? Above all, I want to really, truly please the Lord. For me—what is life worth? Nothing, if it is not pleasing to the Lord. So, I feel guilty sometimes when my motives aren’t to seek the Lord, to serve Him, and to save others. Confession is good for the soul…and amazingly, God is very forgiving when a person’s heart is obediently repentant. That was Jesus’ first message—repent and be saved. He said this after He returned from forty days in the desert where He was tempted by Satan. This part of Jesus’ ministry began when John the Baptist was arrested.

From then on Jesus began to preach, "Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." Matthew 4:17

God’s Kingdom was near then…and it is near now. As near as acceptance of Jesus Christ as one’s own personal Savior. As near as seeking and serving the Lord daily in your relationship with Him. As near as doing everything for the glory of God.
