Is the Door of Opportunity Still Open?

Meditate.

Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, "Life is not pleasant anymore." ... Remember him before the door to life's opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Now you rise at the first chirping of the birds, but then all their sounds will grow faint. Ecclesiastes 12:1, 4

Is the door open to opportunities?
Blue doors is Israel deter evil.

Is the door of opportunity for you still open? What opportunity you may ask? There are opportunities all around you. Are you looking for opportunities? Solomon is writing in Ecclesiastes about the work and opportunities going away. That seemed to be happening early in the Covid pandemic when people were laid off from work and businesses closed in order to avoid contact with other people and the virus. Now you see lots of signs posted for jobs that are available. That indicates that opportunities are available—the door is open. Are those associated with life’s opportunities? Life’s opportunities. Remember God—your Creator—before the door to life’s opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Many work functions create sounds—whether it is the soft sounds of typing on a computer, the pounding of nails in building a house, or the rat-tat-tat at the tire shop as they change your tires. There are the crashing sounds as train cars hook-up and the roar of jet engines at airports. The world is a noisy place, but as things shut down during the pandemic the sound of work faded. Did you forget the Creator—our God—during the height of the pandemic shut-down?

Don’t let the excitement of life—whether associated with youth or not—cause to you to forget God. I think that the pandemic made people focus more on God, than less on Him. Although we couldn’t go to church, we certainly had more time as we were isolated. More time to focus on God and to send cards or notes to encourage others who were isolated. More time to search out and listen to Bible teachers on YouTube. Personally, I experienced anxiety that kept me from picking up the phone and talking to others—I just couldn’t do it. The anxiety I felt just getting out of the house was overwhelming. That “excitement of life”—anxiety—was not a pleasant experience. It closed doors to opportunities. I didn’t want to be around others. The doors to opportunities to serve were closed. Are doors to opportunities open or closed to you now?

Prayer ~ Lord, open my heart to opportunities to serve You.

Verse of Salvation ~ They (your enemies) will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not accept your opportunity for salvation." Luke 19:44
