Meditate. Think about the relationship between Jesus and God the Father.
After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to
heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can
give glory back to you. For you have given him authority over everyone. He
gives eternal life to each one you have given him. And this is the way to have
eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent
to earth. I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave
me to do. Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world
began. John 17:1-5
The Empty Tomb - Jerusalem Jesus was resurrected! |
And he who is the
Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human
that he should change his mind!" 1 Samuel 15:29
Interestingly enough just a bit earlier in this story, God spoke
to Samuel about Saul. God was very disappointed in Saul’s disobedience.
Then the LORD said
to Samuel, "I am sorry that I ever made Saul king, for he has not been
loyal to me and has refused to obey my command." Samuel was so deeply
moved when he heard this that he cried out to the LORD all night. ... And he
who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is
not human that he should change his mind!" 1 Samuel 15:10-11, 29
God was sorry that he ever made king Saul. Does He ever
feel that way about me…or about anyone in this day and age? Definitely, there
are people around now that don’t bring glory to God. Here is a passage that
relates people to people reflecting God’s glory and the fact that we will be
glorified, changed, to be like Jesus. Meditate on that and let me know what you
think.
But the people's
minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read,
the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this
veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. Yes, even today when they read
Moses' writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not
understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For
the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of
the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we
are changed into his glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:14-18
Has the veil been removed from your heart so that you can see and reflect the glory of the Lord? Do you want to be changed to be like Jesus—glorified?
Prayer ~ Glory. Glory. Glory be to the Father, and to
the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. To be glorified—a changed spiritual being—as You
were, Jesus, after Your resurrection—would be such an honor. My hope is to one
day be worthy of being glorified. I praise You, my God, my Lord and my Savior.
Verse of Salvation ~ Help us, O God of our salvation!
Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor
of your name. Psalm 79:9
