At Least Believe

Meditate. Do you know the way to go…what is truth…what is life?

Wise people still seek Jesus.
Where will you go to find Him?
Read the book of John in the Bible.

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!"
John 14:6-7

After Jesus declared that He is the Way, The Truth, and the Life He continues His discussion with the disciples.

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!" Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied." Jesus replied, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don't know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do.” John 14:6-11

He’s been with them for three years—and they are still struggling with who He really is…and His relationship to the Heavenly Father. Do you struggle with knowing Jesus Christ?  It is a whole lot easier for us…being on this side of the cross and having the entire Bible to read. The disciples only had the Hebrew Bible—our Old Testament. They also had what we call the Apocrypha. They may not have had their own copy—those were usually found in the synagogues. Likely they had copied and memorized many passages as good young Jewish boys did in that era.

I sense a bit of frustration on Jesus' part.  Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do.

You’ve seen my power—so believe. After His death and resurrection, they believed, although even then they seem fearful. We don’t have to be fearful…just trusting. We have to trust that what we have heard and learned about Jesus is the truth. He has told us that He is the Truth! Just like He said…at least believe. At Least Believe!

Prayer ~ Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.

Verse of Salvation ~ We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus." Acts 15:11
