Good Food and Safe Water

He cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When Moses threw it into the water, the water became safe to drink. There the Lord made for them a binding ordinance, and there he tested them. Exodus 15:25 NET

Memory Scripture of the Week – Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:1-6

He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.

Safe Streams do exist in Israel.
Provided by our loving Shepherd.
Lead me there, Lord. Let me rest in Your green meadows.
Safe water. There are wadis—valleys or canyons in Israel which are dry except when there is rain.  It doesn’t rain much there, but it is dangerous when those valleys fill up with swift moving water. Then that shepherd needs to be nearby to keep the sheep out of those rushing streams. He leads me besides peaceful streams. Safe water—pure water. God provided the Hebrew people with pure water—safe to drink. Good water creates green grass—and there are patches of green grass across the Israeli hills that shepherds still lead their sheep to green pastures where they can eat, be satisfied and then rest. Rest in Your Father’s arms. He’s there for you. Green meadows—food to eat. Peaceful streams—tasty, pure water for refreshment. He provides. Enjoy!

Prayer ~ Lord God, thank you for letting me rest in the green meadows—and providing pure, clean peaceful water. You’ve provided all I need. Now I humbly stand before You with my heart cleansed by the blood of Jesus, knowing that the sacrifice that He made is beyond my comprehension. I worship and adore You...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for Your love is pure. You are holy.
