Then
God said, "Let the land sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing
plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce
the kinds of plants and trees from which they came." And that is what
happened. Genesis 1:11
Memory Scripture of the Week –
Genesis 1:9 Then God said, "Let the waters
beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear."
And that is what happened.
Genesis 1:10 God called the dry ground
"land" and the waters "seas." And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:11 Then God said, "Let the land
sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow
seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees
from which they came." And that is what happened.
Genesis 1:12-13 The land produced vegetation--all
sorts of seed-bearing plants, and trees with seed-bearing fruit. Their seeds
produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. And
evening passed and morning came, marking the third day.
Genesis 1:14-15 Then God said, "Let lights
appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark
the seasons, days, and years. Let these lights in the sky shine down on the
earth." And that is what happened.
Genesis 1:16 God made two great lights—the larger
one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made
the stars.
Genesis 1:17-19 God set these lights in the sky to
light the earth, to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from
the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And evening passed and morning
came, marking the fourth day.

Vegetation
sprouting. Can’t you just imagine all these plants sprouting up at God’s
command? Poof! From the ground…trees, bushes, herb, and all sorts of floras
sprang up, flowered and started growing fruit and vegetables. No one was there
to see it—but just visualize all the different colors, shapes and varieties of
plants. Overwhelming! God was so…well creative…with His Creation! I am amazed
just with the variety of plants in my area—which is a dry semi-desert plateau.
We have such an array of plants in the spring. Then there are the plants of
people’s yards, gardens and near-by farms which produce such diversity. This is
only my corner of the world. When you consider all the different climates it is
just remarkable. All this world-wide diversity came from the mind of God. He
said… “Let the land sprout with vegetation….”
And it did. That is what happened. We can’t do that! Sometimes in my garden,
when things aren’t growing like I wished they would…I wish I could just say… Let the land sprout with vegetation. But
that is useless. I don’t have the power to make it happen. Only God does. And
He did.
Prayer ~ Lord Jesus...Thank You once
again for creating such wonderful, bountiful plants for us to enjoy as food and
just to admire. Your creativity is amazing.
