God is With Us…Wherever

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Memory Scripture of the Week – Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:1-6

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.

What creates a valley of darkness for you? Is it fear of death, enemies, persecution, or financial worries? Do not be afraid. Over and over God has spoken to people throughout the Bible saying…do not be afraid.
To Abraham…Some time later, the LORD spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, "Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great." Genesis 15:1

To Isaac… "I am the God of your father, Abraham," he said. "Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will bless you…." Genesis 26:24

To Joshua…This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

To the land of Judah—Israel—through the prophet Isaiah…See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory." Isaiah 12:2

To the people of Israel…Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you and your children from east and west. Isaiah 43:5

To the Remnant—the people returning from Babylon after their captivity...Listen to me, you who know right from wrong, you who cherish my law in your hearts. Do not be afraid of people's scorn, nor fear their insults. Isaiah 51:7
"So do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant; do not be dismayed, Israel," says the LORD. "For I will bring you home again from distant lands, and your children will return from their exile. Israel will return to a life of peace and quiet, and no one will terrorize them." Jeremiah 30:10

To those who believe in Jesus as their Savior…And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. - 1 John 4:17 NLT
God is with us. One of my favorite verses is repeated in the Old and New Testaments. It is an assurance that God is with me…He will never abandon me. That gives me hope…and I feel loved.
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.  Deuteronomy 31:8
Don't love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, "I will never fail you. I will never abandon you." Hebrews 13:5.

Pray...As requested in Israel.
Are you going through a valley of despair? It is not an if situation—but a when situation. Someone recently said…and it is always true…We are either going through such a valley, have just been through that valley…or are headed there soon. Don’t despair…God is there for you. He has promised that He will not leave or forsake you. Pray for the people of Israel…that they would know their Messiah…and feel His peace.

Prayer ~ Lord God, Thank You for Your promise to never leave or forsake me. I put my trust in You. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Bring peace to the people of Israel.
