Even
before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and
without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:4
Memory Verse of the Week: For God loved
the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who
believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Christ crucified. Brass plaque from Korea. God so loved the world. |
God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and
without fault in His eyes…. God so loved the world…and God loved us…. Love is a powerful emotion. Being chosen to be holy…without any
faults…perfect in His eyes is beyond my comprehension---but I will accept that
promise. God declared the Israelites to be His chosen people…For you are a holy people, who belong to the
LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, the LORD your God has chosen you to
be his own special treasure. - Deuteronomy 7:6. But after Christ’s crucifixion all of Jesus’
followers became part of
God’s chosen
people as described by Paul in his letter to the church at Thessalonica.
We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves
you and has chosen you to be his own people. 1 Thessalonians 1:4.
The Christians
didn’t replace the Jews as chosen people…the Jews are still God’s elect people.
The Christians are now privileged to be part of God’s family, too. Holy and
blameless.
This includes you who were once far away from God.
You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet
now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his
physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you
are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. Colossians 1:21-22
For God so
loved the world that he made them holy and blameless so that they could stand
before Him. No evil can stand before God…only those who are pure and blameless.
For
God so loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that
everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal live. John 3:16.
Do you feel loved, chosen...blameless?
Prayer – Lord God, thank you for
choosing me…and all those who believe in You. We will not perish…but we’ll have
eternal life with You—pure and blameless. Forever. Shalom to all who read this.
