Meditate. Rejoice in God’s peace.
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me--everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:4-9
The Lord is coming soon. Are you ready? |
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A
day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No,
he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but
wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as
a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very
elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it
will be found to deserve judgment. 2 Peter 3:8-10
God has not forgotten His promise and Christ will return. He will return soon. We are told to be ready.
You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man
will come when least expected. Luke 12:40
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And
the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or
afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you
again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the
Father, who is greater than I am. John 14:27-28 (Spoken by Jesus to
His disciples.)
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest
and disciplined in your prayers. 1 Peter 4:7 (Written by Peter in about 63
AD to Christians scattered throughout the known world.)
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one
will take away your crown. Revelation 3:11 (Jesus’ message to the church at
Philadelphia, in what is now Turkey.)
"Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey
the words of prophecy written in this book." Revelation 22:7 (Jesus’
message written through John in the 90’s AD.)
Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to
repay all people according to their deeds. Revelation 22:12
He who is the faithful witness to all these things says,
"Yes, I am coming soon!" Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20
We’ve been warned. Be ready. What does it take to be spiritually ready? First and foremost, one must believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior, establishing a relationship with Jesus. He didn’t come to just save the world…He came to save you. Repent and accept His gift of salvation. See the scripture above from 2 Peter 3. Then since everyone sins…keep on seeking His forgiveness on a daily basis. Forgive us our debts. That is part of the Lord’s prayer. Jesus taught His disciples to pray including asking for forgiveness. Lead others to the Lord. We are called to make disciples…to tell others the Good News that Jesus Christ died for their sins, He was resurrected from the dead and is in Heaven now making a new home for us. That is God’s promise. An eternal home for all believers in Heaven. The alternate, for non-believers, is an eternity in hell with gnashing teeth and a lake of fire. That is not where I want to spend eternity. I don’t see that as a place that brings God’s peace. How about you?
Prayer ~ Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. Matthew 6:9-13
Verse of Salvation ~ As
Jesus said to the woman whom He’d forgiven of her sin after she anointed Him
with perfume from an alabaster jar….
And Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved
you; go in peace." Luke 7:50
