Hear His Voice

But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end, while it is said, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS, AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME." Hebrews 3:13-15

The quote is from Psalm 95:7-8. The Israelites hardened their hearts against the Lord at Meribah, in Exodus 17:2, because they were so thirsty they thought that they, their children and animals would die. Listen to the Lord’s voice. Not IF, but WHEN, you hear the Lord’s voice, respond in obedience…trusting Him. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice….Psalm 95:7. Listen to His voice. Pay attention to His directions…to His commands, advice, and the instructions that He gives. God gives directions that provide logical and health issue guidance—like not eating unclean meat…or touching an unclean person, such as one with leprosy. Those specific directions in Leviticus were written to protect the Israelites…and us. Even the Ten Commandments are guidelines to protect people from themselves. Are you listening to God’s Voice?  It is the voice of the Holy Spirit, guiding you in all truth.

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit, guide us in Truth. Show us the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Show us Jesus that we would live to please the Lord in all that we think, say and do. Give us grace to be obedient.

Only eight days until Christmas.
Are you listening to His Voice?
