Reread that scripture passage above. Did you catch that the prophets
wondered about the time-frame? They wanted what was being offered to us. Like
some time warp movie today. Here we are today basking in God’s love because of
the Holy Spirit. God chose you. He chose me…to be part of His family.
Blessed be the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual
blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before
the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In
love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself,
according to the kind intention of His will….Ephesians 1:3-5.
Ever since I first grasp this concept I’ve felt so blessed—actually special.
I do have to remind myself of this occasionally. Like the 1 Peter scripture
gives good advice when it says… think
clearly and exercise self-control…don’t go back to your old ways—just be
holy. God is holy—we are His family. Strive to be holy…like our Abba Father.
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit—thank you for revealing the Good News to us. Give us self-control
and keep us from slipping back into our old ways living to satisfy our own
desires. Help us live to please our Heavenly Father—to be holy like He is.

Comment if you want. It is in remembrance of a tragic event in my sister's life--in the lives of our family. It was 26 years ago on December 8, 1989 that my sister, her new husband, Bob, and her two daughters, Vicki and Anne, were shot and killed by her ex-husband Ron, in Spanaway, Washington. Our lives were changed. God was there with them...and they are resting in His love now.
Consider how you can help anyone avoid abusive relationships.
