Heaven in Your Heart

For God's will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time. Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. But our High Priest offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then He sat down in the place of honor at God's right hand. There He waits until His enemies are humbled and made a footstool under His feet. For by that one offering He forever made perfect those who are being made holy. And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For He says, "This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." Then He says, "I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds." And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:10-19 NLT

How often have you asked yourself or a friend…“What is God’s will for my life?” Several people have asked me that over the years…and I always try to encourage them. As long as we are saved and living as God wants us to…according to the “love your neighbor as yourself” principle…and following the Ten Commandments, then we should be pleasing to God—and that is what He wants. That is His will. It is difficult from scripture to tell specific things like what college, career, spouse, home location one should choose.  Sins forgiven. The Holy Spirit now guides us—and we can look forward to boldly entering heaven—and seeing Jesus face to face, because of His sacrifice for us. But that still may not help with the assurance of knowing just how God wants you to live…what He desires for your life. We need to make choices that are good—that is a given. Sometimes it may help to just make a decision and stay with it—not to be wishy washy. But let your statement be, 'Yes, yes' or 'No, no'; anything beyond these is of evil. Matthew 5:37. Look forward to Heaven…but live now—because Heaven begins in your heart when you choose to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior—your Messiah.

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit, guide us in our daily choices that whatever we do pleases the Lord.
