Life From God

[It is] the Spirit of God that made me [which has stirred me up], and the breath of the Almighty that gives me life [which inspires me]. Job 33:4 Amplified

The Spirit of God—the Holy Spirit—inspired Elihu to speak to Job. He acknowledges that God made him and gives him life. Back at the beginning of the earth God said…Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Genesis 1:26. God—including the Holy Spirit—was powerful—The Creator. He was also saw His human creation—man—as a unique creature that could rule—have dominion, that is dominance, or even protect other creatures. Man is a spiritual being—created in God’s image—which is spiritual. No wonder we can be filled with the Holy Spirit. We are vessels to in which the Holy Spirit can dwell. Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT. How do you honor God with your body? To begin with we need to take good care of our bodies…physically and spiritually. This is really convicting of me…I need to lose about 30 pounds! Those pounds have just crept up on my hips and legs so gradually…and now the Holy Spirit is “inspiring” me to exercise more to get my “temple” back in shape. Spiritually—I need to focus more on God’s word…how about you?

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit, please cleanse and purify my body and mind that I would be an acceptable vessel to You. Inspire me to live a holy life.
