Just as He Said

Then the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to him; and He took of the Spirit who was upon him and placed Him upon the seventy elders. And when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied. But they did not do it again. But two men had remained in the camp; the name of one was Eldad and the name of the other Medad. And the Spirit rested upon them (now they were among those who had been registered, but had not gone out to the tent), and they prophesied in the camp. Numbers 11:25-26  

Just as He said. God spoke to Moses and told Him what He was going to do…and then He did it. He listened to Moses who said it was just too much of a burden to take care of all of the Hebrew people—so God lessened his burden by giving responsibility to seventy elders. God poured out His Holy Spirit on those seventy men—they had God’s help, just like Moses did. When you feel over-burdened do you ask the Lord for help? I am over-burdened with clutter and papers. Where does this all come from? That is a physical stressor. How about spiritual burdens? We need to take time to declutter our lives physically, and spiritually as well. You probably made some New Year’s resolution to lose weight or declutter. Did you do a spiritual evaluation to see where you need to change or grow spiritually? How’s your attitude? Are you feeling over-burdened like Moses? Talk to the Lord about it.  

Prayer ~ Lord God, like David, I ask that you would cleanse my heart. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Psalm 19:12 NLT
