Sing A New Song To The LORD!

Prayer – Lord, I’m singing for joy about You—because You are worthy of praise! Continue to show me ways that You are working in my life.

The trees of the forest rustle with praise...
for the Lord is coming!
Forest of trees near Mt. St. Helens.

Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole earth sing to the LORD! Sing to the LORD; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the LORD made the heavens! Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty fill his sanctuary. O nations of the world, recognize the LORD; recognize that the LORD is glorious and strong. Give to the LORD the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his courts. Worship the LORD in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him. Tell all the nations, "The LORD reigns!" The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. He will judge all peoples fairly. Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest rustle with praise before the LORD, for he is coming! He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with his truth. Psalm 96:1-13

Meditate. Sing!

Joy! Singing! Praise! The Psalmist is telling us that every day we should proclaim the good news that Jesus saves and the wonderfully amazing things God has done for you. Are you noticing what the Lord has done for you lately…or has it only been the dramatic things that He did five or ten years ago that you share with others? Have you told others today, this week, or even this month, what God has done for you? Personally, God has given me peace—and taken away my anxieties over the last couple of years, as well as the last few months, weeks, and days. That’s been a very big deal, especially during the COVID pandemic. Jesus said for us to cast all our cares upon Him. That is just what I’ve done…and sure enough, Jesus took on my cares and anxieties. Try it for yourself next time you are experiencing anxieties or just plain worries. God is merciful and will hear your prayers. Look for Him working in your life.

Have you read the Memory Verse of the Week? Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy. John 16:24b. There you go. If you don’t see God working in your life…ask Him to show you what He is doing…and you can not only count on Him to do just that…but He will give you joy—and lots of it. Who doesn’t need lots of joy in their life? Paul writes about people—even those in need—having abundant joy in their lives.

Now I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, what God in his kindness has done through the churches in Macedonia. They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity. 2 Corinthians 8:1-2

Then with abundant joy, sing a new song to the Lord!

Verse of Salvation ~ For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 'The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.' There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." Acts 4:11-12
