Do You See God Dressed in a Robe of Light?

Prayer – Lord, Open my eyes to deeper truths about You today…and every day. I want to know and serve You more and more—for eternity.

Let all that I am praise the LORD. O LORD my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens; you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind. The winds are your messengers; flames of fire are your servants. You placed the world on its foundation so it would never be moved. You clothed the earth with floods of water, water that covered even the mountains. At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away. Mountains rose and valleys sank to the levels you decreed. Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth. ... O LORD, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures. ... May the glory of the LORD continue forever! The LORD takes pleasure in all he has made! The earth trembles at his glance; the mountains smoke at his touch. I will sing to the LORD as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath! May all my thoughts be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD. Let all sinners vanish from the face of the earth; let the wicked disappear forever. Let all that I am praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! - Psalm 104:1-9, 24, 31-35

Meditate. Consider all God’s creation. Think about Noah and the Ark.

God-- dressed in a robe of light. I like that image. A robe of light. He would be glowing…and the flowing robe would leave a train of sparkling light as He walked around the Heavens—and traveled across the sky on His cloud chariot. Dazzling light. What an image of our awesome God, robed with honor and majesty!

The Ark. God set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth. The Ark was an amazing structure that God directed Noah to create to save him and his family. I visited the recreated Ark in Kentucky last June. What an amazing structure. Even with our technology today, it was a monumental task to construct this five-hundred-foot-long ship. Imagine how it was for Noah and his family to build the original Ark. That was definitely an engineering feat! The people who devised the plan of this reconstructed Ark came up with some innovative ideas on how the animals were fed and watered, as well as dealing with the waste issues. Ingenious thinking. We don’t know how Noah dealt with all of that, only that God saw Noah as a pure and righteous man in a horribly sinful world. He rescued Noah and his family from that evil situation. We can hang onto a couple of promises from that encounter. One is God’s promise that He will never again destroy the people with a world-wide flood. The other promise that I see is that God makes a way of escape for us.

If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13

The thing we should most want to escape is our sinful nature. God has a plan for that. Salvation through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. The choice is ours. I’ve chosen to accept Jesus as my Savior…to be redeemed by the blood of the lamb—Christ Himself. Daily it is a choice for each of us…not only to accept Christ’s sacrifice for us…but for us to live faithfully is service to our Lord. Are you willing to make that commitment? Live faithfully. Will that allow you to see God dressed in a robe of light?

Verses of Salvation ~ But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5:8-11

Memory Verse of the Week ~ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV
