Continue to think on fear and doubt.
"Why are you frightened?" he
asked. "Why are your hearts filled with doubt? Luke 24:38
Why? What? When? Fear can take many forms
and twists. It can grip your heart, your soul or your mind stemming from doubts,
unknown outcomes to unsettling situation, or unnerving events. Imagine how the
disciples and Jesus’ friends felt seeing Him just appear in the room after His
resurrection …not going through any doors. Frightened. Full of doubt. Was this their Lord—risen from
the dead?
Why are
you frightened? What can you do to alleviate your fears? Identify and face
them. Jesus showed His disciples His hands and feet so they would know that He
is who He is. Facts can sometime reduce or eliminate fears. That’s what
happened with the Disciples, although the following verses in that narrative
say that they still could not believe it (v.
41). What? It seems their fears were somewhat alleviated—they weren’t running
away...but they still doubted. Do you
doubt? I hope that you don’t doubt that Jesus is who He is…the Son of God…The
Messiah. Savior.
Savior of what…of whom? Savior of mankind
of the world from the Judgment and wrath of God. Everyone is going to live
forever…just WHERE they live is their choice. Heaven or Hell. Accept Jesus,
choose Heaven. Reject Jesus, choose Hell. Pretty simple. Everyone has a choice
on so many things…every day. Make a choice…choose Jesus.
