Think again. Continue to meditate on this
Scripture passage.
So
don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink?
What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your
heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all
else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don't
worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble
is enough for today. Matthew
6:31-34
Do you trust God to provide for you? Do you
really know that God knows your needs? This scripture passage that we looked at
yesterday provides that assurance. Seek God, live righteously and He will give
you everything you need. What part of
that do you have a problem with? The living righteously? God expects us to live
good lives—to seek Him and live in the way that shows we love Him, love our
neighbor and ourselves. Treat others the way we want to be treated. If only…if
only people could humble themselves to do just that. I try…but I will admit
some days it is even hard to just pick up the phone and call others…and that is
what they need now!
Have you got time to help? |
God knows our needs—whether it is a phone
call or a carton of eggs. He will give you everything you need. He knows our need before we ask—which we do…or
should do in prayer.
When you pray, don't babble on and on as
people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by
repeating their words again and again. Don't be like them, for your Father
knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Matthew 6:7-8
So, ask and
you will receive because God knows what you need…even before you ask. But it is
important to ask. Simply ask. Don’t babble. Just trust God to answer and to
provide for your needs. At this time of COVID isolation, insecurity, and
instability it would be good to share with others from the bounty that God
provides to you.
And God will generously provide all you need. Then
you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with
others. 2 Corinthians
9:8
God knows your needs and the needs of others,
too. Can you share with others? A phone call or groceries?
Prayer
~ Praise the LORD! How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in
obeying his commands. ... They share freely and give generously to those in
need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and
honor. Psalm 112:1, 9
