What Do You Treasure?

Think about what matters to you. Meditate on what Jesus expects of us about what is important to us…our treasures.
Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:19-21

What do you treasure?
What do you treasure, value, or consider important? Look around you. What can’t you live without…photos, computer, TV, jewelry, cameras, music equipment, books, legal papers, fancy clothes? But then consider what those who have died took with them. NOTHING! Jesus gave us good advice… Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them. So what are your spiritual treasures? Have you considered that you are special—a treasure—to God.
The LORD has declared today that you are his people, his own special treasure, just as he promised, and that you must obey all his commands. Deuteronomy 26:18
You are a treasure to God Himself...if you can put Him first.

If you give up your lust for money and throw your precious gold into the river, the Almighty himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver! Job 22:24-25
I love it that the Almighty…God Himself…is my treasure. Other treasures?
Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart's delight. Psalm 119:111

Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands. Proverbs 7:1

Wise people treasure knowledge, but the babbling of a fool invites disaster. Proverbs 10:14

In that day he will be your sure foundation, providing a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the LORD will be your treasure. Isaiah 33:6
Treasure God Himself, and everything about the Lord. Salvation, wisdom, knowledge, commands, obedience, fear or respect.  I think that other “treasures” might be considered: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Those are the treasures that I value.  What do you treasure?

Prayer ~Lord, I treasure You. Lead me in the way of righteousness that I would please You in all that I think, say and do and that in Heaven You would be my ultimate treasure.
