Is Doubt Related to Fear?

Meditate. Thinking about fear or doubt?
Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. Deuteronomy 28:66 NKJV

Is doubt related to fear? When you doubt are you like a wave on the lake? Think about those waves Jesus encountered when He was in the storm…and walked on the water. Huge waves tossing to and fro. James suggests that doubt is shows disloyalty like the waves tossing one about.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
James 1:5-8
The Amplified version expands the direction and explains…no hesitating, no doubting.
If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [a]the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].
James 1:5-8 Amplified.

The one who doubts…won’t get what he asks of the Lord—according to this scripture. But God is wise. He recognizes a person’s heart and mind…and if they are double minded it shows. Unstable. Unreliable. Uncertain. Not words that anyone wants to have someone use to describe them. But really when someone doubts, there is a lack of faith, a fear that God cannot do what is asked of Him. Fear. There it is. Fear that God cannot be trusted—but if you can’t trust God who can you trust?

Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. If someone doesn’t believe in God’s power…doesn’t trust God, then they won’t have the assurance of salvation—no assurance of life—everlasting life. Where do you stand…doubting or believing?

Prayer ~ Lord, as You said to Your friends in the Upper Room after Your resurrection, "Why are you frightened?" You asked. "Why are your hearts filled with doubt?" From Luke 24:38. Please give us wisdom. Take doubt away from our hearts and as well as filling us with Your wisdom, strength, and peace during this time of uncertainty. Thank You for making in difference in our lives.

Verse of Salvation ~ And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. 1 Peter 1:5
