Fearless?

Meditate.
They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. Psalm 112:8

Fear can be a good thing. To fear the Lord is to show honor and respect for Him. Obeying Him. That “fear” is good, honest and right. A person who “fears” the Lord can be fearless and can face their foes triumphantly—even if their foe is a pandemic virus, the panic, or . If God is for me, who can be against me?

Praise the LORD! How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted. Psalm 112:1-10

Jesus is the Light of the World.
Follow Him.
Do you consider yourself a “godly person”…one who will be blessed as described in the passage above? That light shining in the darkness is Jesus. Jesus told His followers.
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life."
John 8:12
Like Jesus, those who follow Him want to be generous, compassionate and righteous. That is just how I want to be. A generous and compassionate person who lives the way that God wants, not being overcome…or overwhelmed with life or bad news, just trusting confidently in the Lord. I trust Him to care for me. Do you want to live that way, too?

Praise the Lord…and respectfully seek Him while there is still time.

Prayer ~ Lord, "Remember, O LORD, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you." From Isaiah 38:8.

Verse of Salvation ~ The LORD is my light and my salvation--so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? Psalm 27:1
