Fear? No Fear?

Meditate on these Scriptures.
And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 1 John 4:17-18

The LORD is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? Psalm 118:6

Fear...of fire , flames, or judgment?
What are you afraid of? Fear of the future? Fear of the COVID-19 virus or the economic impact that is creating? Fear of being home alone…or just being alone? Fear of what others think of you…or that you are not good enough? Fear of what tomorrow holds…or doesn’t? Afraid of taking part in some sport—fear of getting hurt? Fear of fire, storms or icy roads? Fear that keeps you from falling asleep—a fear that you won’t wake up? Fear of death? Fear of being abandoned?  Fear of not being loved…or not having an opportunity to love others?

Our Scripture today reminds us to have no fear and that love has no fear. Another comforting promise is found in both the Old and New Testaments where God promises that He will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5).  If God is for us…His love casts out fear. Just trust in Him. Quoting and meditating on His word is reassuring, not only confirming His love, but encouraging your own actions that will give you courage to have no fear.
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:7-9
Can you trust the Lord to give you strength to have no fear?

Prayer ~ Lord, I will trust in You with all my heart; not depending on my own understanding. I seek your will in all I do, and know that You will show me which path to take. From Proverbs 3:5-6. I have no fear…knowing You are always with me. Thank You.

Verse of Salvation ~ God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9

Repent and believe in Jesus as your savior. Accept the gift of salvation while there is still time.
