Prayer- Lord, show me more of Yourself today. Meditate—Nothing is too hard for Him.
"O Sovereign LORD! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you! You show unfailing love to thousands, but you also bring the consequences of one generation's sin upon the next. You are the great and powerful God, the LORD of Heaven's Armies. You have all wisdom and do great and mighty miracles. You see the conduct of all people, and you give them what they deserve. You performed miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt—things still remembered to this day! And you have continued to do great miracles in Israel and all around the world. You have made your name famous to this day." Jeremiah 32:17-20
Recently someone pointed out to me that the
Lord has ARMIES…not just one army in Heaven. That would be an army of resurrected,
glorified humans and an army of angels. Glory be to the God of Heaven…the Lord
of the Armies of Heaven. There is going to be a battle someday…probably several—on
earth and in Heaven. The wars on the earth will likely come about quickly. That
is just how things are happening these days. Changes in political standings and
transformations of alliances between nations transpire more rapidly than we can
keep track of in this ever evolving world. With COVID keeping us isolated we
may have more information at our fingertips…but at least some of us are
becoming less interested in international politics—dulled by the obligation of
seclusion. Jesus told everyone to be ready. But are we ready for what may take
place in our lifetime? God is all powerful and we have seen His miracles—like
Israel returning as a nation to the land of Palestine. God’s name is famous…and
nothing is too hard for Him! Let Heaven and earth rejoice! The Lord and His
Armies will be victorious.
Then I heard a loud voice shouting across
the heavens, "It has come at last—salvation and power and the Kingdom of
our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and
sisters has been thrown down to earth—the one who accuses them before our God
day and night. And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their
testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to
die. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens! And you who live in the heavens, rejoice!
But terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to
you in great anger, knowing that he has little time." Revelation
12:10-12
Be ready…
"Be dressed for service and keep your
lamps burning, as though you were waiting for your master to return from the
wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the
moment he arrives and knocks. The servants who are ready and waiting for his
return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put
on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! He may come in the middle of
the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the
servants who are ready." Luke 12:35-38 Light your lamp.
This one depicts those used in Jesus' time.
Are you ready? Will He gather you up with His chosen people to one day be part of the Armies of the Lord?
Prayer ~ Dear Lord God, All praise to You, God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by Your great mercy that we have been born again, because You raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for us, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through our faith, You, God, are protecting us by Your power until we receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. From 1 Peter 1:3-5. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
Verse
of Salvation ~ "When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he
saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his
mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the
Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ
our Savior. Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us
confidence that we will inherit eternal life." Titus 3:4-7
