Think about God being your own God…for you and your family.
"I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you. And I will give the entire land of Canaan, where you now live as a foreigner, to you and your descendants. It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God." Genesis 17:7-8
Always! What a great promise. I will always be your God. He is not just our God
yesterday…or in the days of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…but He is our God today.
He will never give up on us, leave us or forsake us. Jesus promised that
Jesus came and told his disciples, "I
have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the
Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I
have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the
end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20
God the Father has endured so much rejection by His
chosen people, the Israelites, over the centuries. Consider how it is recorded throughout
the books of the Old Testament that they rejected Him when things were going
well…and then pleaded for Him to take them back into His grace when things were
not going well. Here’s an example from Judges—doing what they wanted…what
seemed right to them, not following God’s rules.
In those days Israel had no king; all the
people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes. Judges 17:6
Over and over He rescued them. Our God is a good God. He is Our God…whether we are Jewish or believing Gentiles. I am not worthy of His love and grace…but He has offered His Son Jesus as a sacrifice for my sin. Jesus went obediently to the cross to die for the sin of all mankind. That was the plan of God the Father. Our God. The plan that allows us to one day approach Him pure and holy. That is the only way to the Father. Our Father. There is nothing we can do on our own. Jesus paid the price…Jesus did it all. For us. For Our Father…Our God.
Prayer ~ Heavenly Father God, You have united us with Christ Jesus. For our benefit You made Christ to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with You; He made us pure and holy, and He freed us from sin. From 1 Corinthians 1:30
Verse
of Salvation ~ For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only
Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal
life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world
through him. John 3:16-17 [Julia’s favorite verse.]
Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table
Today is my granddaughter Julia’s 6th
birthday. A sweet day! Her favorite food is spaghetti…better known as
“Paghetti” at her house.

Julia’s Paghetti Meal
Put noodles in a pan. A tall pan. Add water to the noodles.
Chop meat up. Cook meat and red sauce together.
Bring it to the table and eat it with a spoon and fork and a knife. Add pesto.
With the spaghetti eat apples, pears, and oranges.
Dessert
For dessert have some pink ice cream. Cherry – strawberry – raspberry with chocolate, mint and vanilla. Check the label so you know what is in it.
Bread
Make the dough with that stuff that my Mom made (sour dough starter). Add to it a little bit of flour and check it later in the day. Then put it in a circle shape or if you want it like store bought then put all the dough in a pan. Put it in the oven. Take it out and you eat it.
Cookies
Make that dough stuff. Roll it out. Bake it. Come back later and frost them.
Happy 6th Birthday, Julia
