Meditate on God’s relationship with you…and yours with Him.
"In that day Israel's glory will grow dim; its robust body will waste away. The whole land will look like a grainfield after the harvesters have gathered the grain. It will be desolate, like the fields in the valley of Rephaim after the harvest. Only a few of its people will be left, like stray olives left on a tree after the harvest. Only two or three remain in the highest branches, four or five scattered here and there on the limbs," declares the LORD, the God of Israel. Then at last the people will look to their Creator and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 17:4-7 (Underlined for emphasis.)
Listen, you kings! Pay attention, you mighty rulers! For I will sing to the LORD. I will make music to the LORD, the God of Israel. Judges 5:3
Yahweh Elohim Israel is the true God of
Israel, not the false god of other nations. Yahweh Elohim Israel has been with
the Israelites always during the good times and the not so good times when they’ve
been rebellious and turned their backs on Him. He was certainly with Moses and
all the Israelites as they endeavored to leave Egypt. We saw what He did for
the nation of Israel bringing them forth from their captivity.
After
this presentation to Israel's leaders, Moses and Aaron went and spoke to
Pharaoh. They told him, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel,
says: Let my people go so they may hold a festival in my honor in the
wilderness." Exodus 5:1
God continued to be with Israel. In this verse from Judges Deborah, the only woman Judge in the Israeli history, and Barak, an Israeli warrior that God gave victory to over their enemy, sang a song praising God. Their song gave an account of the Canaanite battle including the refusal of some tribes to be involved and how God helped. God is the Lord of Israel—even when they return to idolatry…and then return to God.
The scripture in Isaiah’s prophesies for the future exile of Israel, or as some may interpret this passage as a historical report of the Babylonian exile. In either case, God is declaring that Israel will be desolate and that they would again look to the Lord as their Holy One. Yahweh Elohim Israel is the true God of Israel. He is still the true God today. He is my God…is He yours?
Golgatha. Jerusalem, Israel Jesus' cross is thought to have stood on this hill. His blood shed for you and for me. |
Verse of Salvation ~ Then Peter replied, "I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right. This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all." Acts 10:34-36 The Good News is salvation—eternal salvation in Jesus Christ.
