Have you ever felt the healing touch of Jehovah-Rophe ? Meditate on God’s healing grace.
Then Moses led the people of Israel away from the Red Sea, and they moved out into the desert of Shur. They traveled in this desert for three days without finding any water. When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too bitter to drink. So they called the place Marah (which means "bitter"). T hen the people complained and turned against Moses. "What are we going to drink?" they demanded. So Moses cried out to the LORD for help, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink. It was there at Marah that the LORD set before them the following decree as a standard to test their faithfulness to him. He said, "If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you." Exodus 15:22-26
יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ Jehovah-Rophe.
There are so many times that God has healed. Consider
the miracles of healing in the Old Testament that God did through His prophets
and servants.
King Abimelech of Gerar wives were healed by God through a prayer of Abraham. Genesis 20
Israelites bitten by snakes were healed by the bronze snake Moses made. Numbers 21
Naaman was healed of leprosy by Elisha – 1 Kings 5
The widow’s son was brought back to life by Elisha – 1 Kings 17
Hezekiah who was deathly ill had his health
restored by Isaiah – 2 Chronicles 32
A few New Testament healings – by Jesus and others.
Son of the widow at Nain was raised from the dead by Jesus. Luke 7
Ten lepers were healed by the mercy of Jesus. Luke 17
Demon possessed blind man healed by Jesus so he could hear and speak. Matthew 12
Roman soldier’s servant paralyzed healed by Jesus at a distance. Matthew 8
Woman healed from a blood issue when she touched Jesus’ robe. Luke 8
Jesus healed a man’s deformed hand on the Sabbath. Mark3
Jesus was raised from the dead. John 20
On island of Malta Paul healed a chief
official’s father of dysentery and a fever. Acts 28
God is still a
healing God. Maybe not all prayers for healing are answered in a positive
way—with healing—but if that person passes then they are actually receiving the
ultimate healing. One day we will all be resurrected…and our bodies made
perfect. We can only look forward to that time. God has promised that there
will be no more tears.
And
I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like
a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the
throne, saying, "Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live
with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will
wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or
crying or pain. All these things are gone forever." Revelation
21:2-4
Are you ready for that time? Jesus told us to be prepared…to be ready. We can only assume that He meant for us to be spiritually ready—to have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior…and to go and make disciples of all nations…beginning in our own neighborhoods. Are you doing that?
Here is what God wants of us…Walk humbly with your God.
Hiking in the Arizona desert near Parker.
Do you pray as you walk with Him?
…the
LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what
is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
Are you walking humbly alongside our God—with Him in your heart seeking His healing touch?
Prayer
~ Lord, just as the angel spoke to Daniel…I pray that you will give our nation
wisdom, understanding and a clear vision for revival that we can be healed.
Then he said, "Don't be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer." Daniel 10:12
Verse
of Salvation ~ O LORD, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me,
I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone! Jeremiah 17:14
