The LORD Is Our Righteousness

Meditate.

And this will be his name: 'The LORD Is Our Righteousness.' In that day Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety. Jeremiah 23:6

יהוה צדקנו  Yahweh Tsidkenu – Hebrew for the LORD is Our Righteousness

Jerusalem - City of David
The Lord is Our Righteousness

As noted in the Strong’s Lexicon, on the Blue Letter Bible website, it is the sacred name applied to the Messiah and Jerusalem. Jehovah our righteousness, "The LORD Our Righteousness," a title given to the Messiah and also to Jerusalem. This title is given to the ruler over the restored Jerusalem.

The day will come, says the LORD, when I will do for Israel and Judah all the good things I have promised them. "In those days and at that time I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David's line. He will do what is just and right throughout the land. In that day Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this will be its name: 'The LORD Is Our Righteousness.' Jeremiah 33:14-16

We think of righteousness as right living before God, but in this instance or usage, it could be described as justice or justified, ethically right, redemptive, and I would even say pure. Applying it to our Messiah we could also consider a synonym of Savior.

This identity of our God makes me want to bow down…with my face to the ground. He is Holy, pure and Righteous. There is no other God…like my God. How do you feel about the LORD as Righteousness?

Prayer ~ Yahweh Tsidkenu, End the evil of those who are wicked, and defend the righteous. For you look deep within the mind and heart, O righteous God. Psalm 7:9

Verse of Salvation ~ For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life." Romans 1:16-17
