Adoration

Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. Matthew 6:9-13

Jesus felt the emotion of adoration in His love, esteem, respect, worship and admiration of His Heavenly Father. He could barely contain His love for the Father and He wanted His followers to know and respect our Heavenly Father. The prayer that He taught them begins with a focus on how much we should adore Our Father. His name is even special.

Consider also how much the Father loved the Son as He declared at the Baptism and Transfiguration of Jesus. Dearly loved—adored.
-          And a voice from heaven said, "This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy." Matthew 3:17
-          Then a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my dearly loved Son. Listen to him." Mark 9:7
To love and be loved is the greatest thing…the center of all human emotions. I, too, like Jesus bask in the Father’s love. For that very reason I want to show my adoration and respect for God and for Jesus. Our God—triune Father, Son and Holy Spirit…are worthy of our adoration, our love, respect and worship. Like a song that my kids sang in the Psalty drama back in the early 1980’s my expression of love and adoration to God is to give Him my life. This song was written by Terrye Coelho.

Father I Adore You
Father I adore You
Lay my life before You.
How I love You.

Jesus, I adore You,
Lay my life before You.
How I love You.

Spirit, I adore You,
Lay my life before You.
How I love You.
Do you adore God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength…and lay down your life for Him?

Prayer ~ Lord God, I love You with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength…and I am certainly trying to love my neighbor as myself. Please help me to love myself more…and to help my neighbor, too.

Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table
It’s hot and dry. Time for some cool and refreshing iced tea. I just made some with some peppermint leaves.  Brew a strong tea—peppermint or some other refreshing tea such as peach or lemon-ginger. Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the tea over the ice. Find a quiet spot in the shade or create a peaceful retreat within your home and enjoy a cool glass of iced tea as you meditate on God’s word today.
