Seek and Wait

The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:25-26

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33. God is good to those who seek Him—seek Him first. One of my granddaughters asked me the other day what it means when we say God Bless You?  What is a blessing? God’s favor and protection. Often when someone says “God Bless You” it is a plea for God’s healing touch.

Working out their salvation…Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:12-13 NLT. As we wait for the return of the Lord, our salvation, Jeremiah, the author of Lamentations, tells us that we need to wait silently. That is hard to do—to be silent. Usually if we are filled with the joy of our salvation, we want to go tell it on the mountains. But…silently—quietly. That is a good plan, too. Some people respond best to be approached quietly, respectfully with the knowledge of salvation. No shouting in their faces. Live your salvation quietly before others. Wait. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14.

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit—I rejoice in Your love and salvation—and I wait quietly.
