Will I have a Home in Heaven…like I do Here on Earth?

Prayer – Lord, what is Your Father’s home like? It’s gonna have to have a lot of rooms for all of us Christians to a place to stay! I so look forward to living there forever with You. Just as John wrote near the end of Revelation, “Come, Lord Jesus.”

"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going." ... Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:1-4, 6

Meditate. Read God’s word and listen to what He is saying.

What is the ideal house…is it a mansion with lots and lots of rooms? That would be a house with room enough for everyone who is a faithful follower of Jesus. John described the New Jerusalem—and God’s home.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. Revelation 21:1-3 (Underlined for emphasis.)

Jesus promised. He is preparing a place for us—a room in His Father’s home. This will be in the New Jerusalem. Heaven is a wonder place—pure and undefiled. Who doesn’t want to go there? Well, maybe the rebellious, evil people who don’t know or seek God.

Jesus tells us that we will live in His Father’s house, so it will be a multigenerational home with people from all nations and tribes. We won’t necessarily have our own little houses—but what matters is that we will be with God Almighty, our Heavenly Father, as sons and daughters living at home with Him.

What a great concept. God has a plan and we can be part of that—if we believe in Jesus as the Son of God…and our Savior. Savior from what? From our sins, because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. By believing in Jesus, repenting of our sins, and establishing a relationship with Him, we become part of God’s holy family and can be welcomed into His Heavenly home.

Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Revelation 21:27

What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises. Psalm 84:4

Will you have a home in Heaven—a place in Almighty God’s house in the New Jerusalem?

Verse of Salvation ~ So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God's obedient children. Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn't know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, "You must be holy because I am holy." 1 Peter 1:13-16
