Questions and Mysteries about Heaven?

Prayer – Lord, people are always asking about Heaven—what is it like? Please give us insight—wisdom and understanding—in the next few days as we explore some of those mysteries. Help us to see and to hear the truths that You have hidden in Your words.

His disciples came and asked him, "Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?" He replied, "You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. That is why I use these parables. For they look, but they don't really see. They hear, but they don't really listen or understand. Matthew 13:10-13

Meditate on the mysteries of heaven.

Do you ever wonder what Heaven is like? Is it a big mystery to you? Mysteries and secrets of the Kingdon of Heaven are hidden—just as Jesus described to His disciples. Note that He said… those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. Are you listening to His teachings? There are so many references to the Kingdom of Heaven. Here are a couple of those:

So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God's laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 5:19

Not everyone who calls out to me, 'Lord! Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. Matthew 7:21

Read His Word so you can...
Follow God's Commands.
To know Him...and Heaven.
Following God’s commands is the key. Then it is necessary to teach them to others…to disciple them. Jesus tells us to listen…and we’ll get additional understanding and plenty of knowledge. When was the last time you asked for knowledge and understanding of scripture? I often have to ask for just that as I read God’s word and blog. (Underlined below for emphasis.)

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. James 1:5-8

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. Colossians 1:9-10 NLT

Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:3-6

When we ask for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, God will give it to us…as we seek Him. In His grace we can count on He to give us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding about the mysteries and answer our questions about Heaven.

Verse of Salvation ~ After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting, "Praise the LORD! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God. Revelation 19:1
