Pray פלל

Call for Prayer
As seen in Jerusalem.
Lord, Yahweh, have mercy.
Prayer – Lord, hear our prayers. Please give mercy, strength and hope to Israel.

Then the LORD came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and he called out his own name, Yahweh. The LORD passed in front of Moses, calling out, "Yahweh! The LORD! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected--even children in the third and fourth generations." Exodus 34:5-7

Meditate. Read God’s word and listen to what He is saying.

It is hard to see God’s mercy and love amidst the war that is going on between Israel and Palestine right now. Thousands of people have been killed and certainly thousands more wounded and brutally massacred. Some people compared this to the 9/11 tragedy in the United States—but it is much worse. Lord, have mercy. The pictures we see on YouTube are devastating. What can we do but pray?

The Hebrew word for prayer is Palal. The Hebrew characters for pray are Pei (meaning ear) and Lamed Lamed (uplifted hands).     פלל

I’ve been encouraged to pray and Pastor Micah Smith has suggested ways to give to trusted credible organizations, Global Gateway Network. God will hear the prayers of the righteous. As we lift up our hands and voices, His ear will hear.

The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29

In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. ... May he grant your heart's desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers. Psalm 20:1-2, 4-5

That is our plea…hear our prayers and be merciful.

Verse of Salvation ~ The LORD will comfort Israel again and have pity on her ruins. Her desert will blossom like Eden, her barren wilderness like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found there. Songs of thanksgiving will fill the air. "Listen to me, my people. Hear me, Israel, for my law will be proclaimed, and my justice will become a light to the nations. My mercy and justice are coming soon. My salvation is on the way. My strong arm will bring justice to the nations. All distant lands will look to me and wait in hope for my powerful arm. Look up to the skies above, and gaze down on the earth below. For the skies will disappear like smoke, and the earth will wear out like a piece of clothing. The people of the earth will die like flies, but my salvation lasts forever. My righteous rule will never end! Isaiah 51:3-6
