Prayer – Lord, we patiently wait…or not so patiently, but anxiously wait for You to transform us into the immortal servants that we will one day be for You. I’ve realized it is a spiritual world that we face with eager hope of being God’s adopted children. A spiritual world. Help me to understand the ramifications of that…and to be prepared to serve You with the best of my abilities.
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the
glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that
future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will,
all creation was subjected to God's curse. But with eager hope, the creation
looks forward to the day when it will join God's children in glorious freedom
from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the
pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan,
even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory,
for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait
with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his
adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. Romans
8:18-23
Meditate. Read God’s word and listen to what He is saying.
Childbirth. Pain. From near the beginning of time, when
Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, God cursed women with pain in childbirth.
That pain level is the comparison standard in hospitals. What is your pain
level 0 to 10?…with ten being childbirth. I can imagine that burn survivors
pain levels go beyond that 10. Horrific pain levels. So, all creation has
been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
Groaning. Stretching. Waiting. The time will come…likely sooner than we think…when
God will change us and call us to come up to be with Him. John wrote about this
in Revelation 12.
Then I witnessed in
heaven an event of great significance. I saw a woman clothed with the sun, with
the moon beneath her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was
pregnant, and she cried out because of her labor pains and the agony of giving
birth. Then I witnessed in heaven another significant event. I saw a large red
dragon with seven heads and ten horns, with seven crowns on his heads. His tail
swept away one-third of the stars in the sky, and he threw them to the earth.
He stood in front of the woman as she was about to give birth, ready to devour
her baby as soon as it was born. She gave birth to a son who was to rule all
nations with an iron rod. And her child was snatched away from the dragon and
was caught up to God and to his throne. Revelation 12:1-5
Jesus died on a cross... that we might live... and have fruitful lives. Eternally. |
Are you a believer, a faithful follower of the Messiah—our Lord Jesus Christ? Trust Him with your heart and life—your very soul. He is worthy since He has already taken your sins upon Himself and died on the cross…just for you and just for me.
Verses of Salvation ~ Though the LORD is very great and
lives in heaven, he will make Jerusalem his home of justice and righteousness.
In that day he will be your sure foundation, providing a rich store of
salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the LORD will be your treasure. Isaiah
