Prayer – Lord Jesus, You were dead…and God raised You from the dead. I’m counting on that to happen to all the Christians, too…someday. We will be transformed, just like You were, from mortal to immortal in the twinkling of an eye—and then at some point, called up to Heaven. What a glorious day that will be. Your Father…our Heavenly Father…has such a miraculous plan. Come quickly, Jesus.
"But when people die, their strength is gone.
They breathe their last, and then where are they? As water evaporates from a
lake and a river disappears in drought, people are laid to rest and do not rise
again. Until the heavens are no more, they will not wake up nor be roused from
their sleep. I wish you would hide me in the grave and forget me there until
your anger has passed. But mark your calendar to think of me again! Can the
dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle,
and I would eagerly await the release of death.” Job 14:10-14Just like the butterfly...you can find
New Life in Christ Jesus.
Meditate. Consider Job’s plight.
Can the dead live again?
What a marvelous question! What do you think? Jesus died and
rose from the grave, which is well known, but not always well accepted fact. He
was the first to be raised from the dead—never to die again. Others, like
Lazareth, were resurrected, but died again. Jesus was the first of a harvest…there
will be the main harvest…and then the gleaning harvest, just like in Jewish harvest
customs. New life. Even Job had hope for a new life. Do you?
And if our hope in
Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the
world. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a
great harvest of all who have died. So you see, just as death came into the
world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through
another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who
belongs to Christ will be given new life. But there is an order to this
resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who
belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back. 1 Corinthians 15:19-23
The transformation that will take place one day will be
exciting. Are you ready for that day? Really, how do you prepare? Jesus told us
to be prepare since we don’t know the hour or the day when He will return. You
can be sure that the dead in Christ will live again. Just be sure that you are
among those who faithfully follow the Lord.
Verses of Salvation ~ We can rejoice, too, when we run
into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And
endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our
confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For
we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to
fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at
just the right time and died for us sinners. Romans 5:3-6
Happy
Birthday, Mary!
