What is in a Birthday? Reset.

Prayer ~ Lord, Thank You for second chances.

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:21-24

Meditate.

Don't be a stubborn pig.
Reset your attitude and thoughts.

Pig by Liberty.
What does a birthday give you? I think it is the beginning of a New Year. Clean slate. Start over. With the New Year, God gave the Jews an opportunity to repent of their sins and start over once a year. Actually, we are tasked with the same thing as Jesus called His followers to repent and turn away from their sinful ways. Paul taught that God wants us to live holy lives (see 1 Thessalonians 4:7) and additionally, he reminded us that we need to think about good things.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8

Responding to a reset of your thought life may result in being filled with the fruits of the Spirit.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23

Treat yourself well…and when your birthday rolls around consider giving yourself a reset. Put on your new nature. Or don’t even wait for your birthday, do it today. Jesus also warned us to “be ready” for His call. Whether that call is to do a project for Him, live a Godly life, or talk to a stranger about Him, we need to be prepared to do whatever it is that He asks of us.

How will you celebrate your birthday this year? Are you prepared…are you ready and willing to spiritually reset your life to please God?

Verse of Salvation ~ But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God." Psalm 50:23

Memory Verse of the Week - Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. Psalm 139:14

Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table

Time to eat…but what shall we serve? We can’t wait until that feast that we’ve heard about in Heaven, but read Revelation again. That wedding feast doesn’t occur immediately after the rapture. Read it for yourself. Read Revelation—along with Daniel and Matthew. Pray and be prepared.
