Prayer – Lord – I believe in You—as my Lord and Savior,
as Creator, and as God. I’m standing firm in my faith and courageously put my
trust in You.
Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous.
Be strong. And do everything with love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Meditate. Think about faith.
The First Mention of a word in the Bible is important. Of
the 244 verses (NLT) that contain “faith” it is first mentioned with God’s
favorite man of faith, Abraham.
Some time later, the
LORD spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, "Do not be afraid, Abram,
for I will protect you, and your reward will be great." ... Then the LORD
took Abram outside and said to him, "Look up into the sky and count the
stars if you can. That's how many descendants you will have!" And Abram
believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith.
Genesis 15:1, 5-6
Because he believed—because he trusted God and had faith in
what God promise. Faith, that is believing and trusting in what you can’t see.
Although he couldn’t see them then and actually never would see all of his
descendants throughout time…he believed what God had promised. Faith is a
powerful quality. Believe. Stand firm in the faith. Stand firm, secure
and strong—not wavering—resolutely and determined. Be solid in your beliefs.
Know what you know so well that you can defend it.
It takes faith--as well as good upper body strength.

What good is it,
dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don't show it by your
actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? James 2:14
Defend and use your faith. Show others what faith is Christ
is all about by the things you think, say, and do.
