Have You Told Others?

Prayer ~ LORD, look down from heaven; look from your holy, glorious home, and see us. Where is the passion and the might you used to show on our behalf? Where are your mercy and compassion now? Isaiah 63:15

I will tell of the LORD's unfailing love. I will praise the LORD for all he has done. I will rejoice in his great goodness to Israel, which he has granted according to his mercy and love. Isaiah 63:7

Meditate. Unfailing love.

Do you know Israel’s history? God chose one man, Abraham, and his wife, Sarah, to be the beginning of God’s chosen people—to bless them. Abraham was seen as a righteous man—living right and probably seeking God in his own way before religion had even been established. From that one couple generations of chosen people have lived and died, more numerous than the stars in the sky…just as God had promised Abraham and then his son, Isaac, and his grandson, Jacob. God loved those people…and still does with an unfailing love. Throughout history they don’t “deserve” God’s love, but He lavishes it on them anyway. Isaiah, as a prophet, wrote in the focus passage today, that he would rejoice and praise the Lord for all that He has done. Even when the Israelites turned their back on God, rebelliously rejecting His love and power, God continued to love them…sending prophet after prophet to get them to repent and change their ways. Then God sent His only Son, Jesus, to be a sacrificial lamb, not only for the Israelites, but for all of mankind. Jesus came to earth from heaven to be a sacrifice—once for all. Jesus demonstrated His unfailing love, not only to the Jews but also to the Gentiles.

Unfailing love is listed in the Blue Letter Bible, Strong’s Lexicon as kindness, goodness, mercy, lovingkindness, goodness, kindly, merciful, and reproach. Isaiah wrote that he would tell of the Lord’s unfailing love. Have you experienced the Lord’s unfailing love? Have you teld others about God’s unfailing love for you, for them—and your relationship with Him?

Verses of Salvation ~ He (Jesus) said, "They are my very own people. Surely they will not betray me again." And he became their Savior. In all their suffering he also suffered, and he personally rescued them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the years. Isaiah 63:8-9

Memory Verse of the Week ~ Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6
