Prayer ~ For Julia…May the Lord Bless You and Keep You and make His face shine upon you…today and always.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17
Meditate. Love God. Love others.
These verses are my Granddaughter Julia’s favorite verses,
so to honor her on her seventh birthday I am posting them here for you to
consider. How can you or have applied these to your life? Likely John 3:16 is
one of the first verses you ever memorized. I think that Julia can agree with
that, although she has actually memorized many verses and lots of songs. Kids
are like sponges—they just soak up whatever is given to them. Julia, like her
brother and sisters, is home-schooled and Christian heritage, including
scripture memorization, is part of the curriculum. I think that is a good
thing. What better way to learn to read and write than to focus on God’s word.
Look at those words that the apostle John penned over two
thousand years ago revealing Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus. God loved the world so much—but He knew that humans would mess up and sin, so He
asked His one and only Son, at that time, if He would take responsibility for
that sin. Would you have done that knowing that you’d have to die—your blood
would have to be shed to save those wretched people? Blood has to be
surrendered for sin to be forgiven. Blood is life. Sin is death. Jesus
obediently chose to provide life…eternal life…for mankind by sacrificing His
own blood for the sin of man. That is pure love. God didn’t send Jesus to earth
to judge people on whether they were good or bad—but just simply to save
them…the whole world…from sin and corruption. Jesus came to save us from the evil
that those against God use to draw mankind away from God—from the goodness of
life. Choose life. Choose to know Jesus and to believe in Him. You’ll get the
greatest reward ever. Eternal Life.
Verse of Salvation ~ For God loved
the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who
believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Memory Verse of the Week ~ Let them praise the LORD
for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. Psalm
107:8
Test yourself or recite this verse to someone. Did you
memorize it? Does it mean anything different to you than it did at the
beginning of the week?
Happy Birthday – Julia!
