Look Up

Prayer ~ Lord God, I am looking up—patiently watching and waiting for You. Someone recently said that if everyone were evangelizing more that the Rapture would have happened because the last Gentile would have been saved. I think You have Your own timetable—and only You, Heavenly Father, know the hour and the day that Jesus Christ will return for the believers. I realize that people are expecting Jesus to come for “the church” but it will not be “the church” that will be rapture, but only the believers. Open the eyes of those people “playing church” and thinking that if they go to church on Sunday…and are good all week that they are part of “the church,” they will be raptured. What an eye-opener they have in store! Unless they “believe” in You Jesus as their Savior, they will NOT be saved or raptured. I am grateful to know that I believe in You Jesus…as the Son of God, as God, and as my living Lord and Savior.

"Teacher," they asked, "when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to take place?" He replied, "Don't let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and saying, 'The time has come!' But don't believe them. And when you hear of wars and insurrections, don't panic. Yes, these things must take place first, but the end won't follow immediately." Then he added, "Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven. But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me. So don't worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you! ... And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!" Luke 21:7-15, 25-28

Meditate. Where are you looking?

Salvation - like the promise of the rainbow.
It may be nearer than you think.
Look up!
I love this…look up, for your salvation is near! Lately, I’ve been watching people, especially as they walk down the street. Most people are looking at their feet…looking down. Don’t they realize that by leaning over so much they are setting their bodies off balance? Our heads are the heaviest part of our bodies and by leaning over, we are setting ourselves up to go tumbling forward, falling. Dangerous way to walk. Do these people think that they have to look at their feet to walk right? I was born pigeon-toed with both feet pointed inward. When I started walking my doctor and parents put me in corrective shoes—I think with braces for a short time. Then I always wore clunky, supportive shoes—not pretty little Mary Jane shoes. I looked at my feet a lot…to make sure I was walking right—toes pointed forward. That was probably the beginning of my poor posture. Ha! Now, I try to focus every day on looking up. Are there clouds in the sky? Is today the day of Jesus’ return for the believers? Look up. Are you ready? It might just be the time of Salvation.

Verse of Salvation ~ I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Psalm 121:1-8

Memory Verse of the Week ~ For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard.  Romans 3:23
