Prayer ~ Lord, I praise You with all of my heart, all of my mind, and all of my soul…and strength. You have provided physical and spiritual sustenance…food and water for those whom You love and have called to be part of Your family, as You led them out of exile around the world, and out of the deepest despair or distress—back to Your Promised Land. You promised that You are preparing a new Promised Land for us—a New Heaven and a New Earth. It will be glorious.
Let them praise the LORD for his great love and
for the wonderful things he has done for them. For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things. Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom,
imprisoned in iron chains of misery. They rebelled against the words of God,
scorning the counsel of the Most High. That is why he broke them with hard
labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them. "LORD, help!"
they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He led them
from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains. Let them
praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for
them. Psalm 107:8-15 (Underlined for emphasis.)
Meditate. How will you praise the Lord today?
God’s love is great—beyond what we can comprehend. He shows
His love releasing the captives from darkness and deepest gloom. What is bringing
you darkness and deepest gloom into your life these days? Have you been crying
out, “LORD, help” in your distress? God hears your prayers as you call out
to Him.
The LORD is far from
the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29
He has done wonderful things. Think about the things that God has done in your life…all that He has provided you. God has provided so much for me and I am grateful for my family, home, friends, all that glorious bounty of food—but most of all, I deeply appreciate the love of Jesus and the sacrifice He made for me… for all mankind. Amazing love. That is what my Lord and Savior has done…and I can hardly wait to see Him as He obediently continues to do just what the Father has asked Him to do to destroy evil. He wins! I’ve read the Book! Do you know how the Book ends?
Verse of Salvation ~ But I will offer sacrifices to you
with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes
from the LORD alone. Jonah 2:9
Memory Verse of the Week ~ Let them praise the LORD
for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. Psalm
107:8
