What motivates you? Money? Is it your paycheck--putting in an honest day or week's work for a fair wage? Money. Does it put a roof over your head, clothes on your back and send your kids to college?Sure it does--but that money belongs to and comes from the Lord--doesn't it?
- "No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Luke 16:13
Bits of old coins in Israel |
What motivates you? Love? Unfailing love? Knowing that God loves you...and that He will never leave you or forsake you. As David wrote...
- Then David continued, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the LORD is finished correctly." 1 Chronicles 28:20
Be strong and courageous...know God is always with you--within you because you are the temple of God. He is for you.
- The LORD directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way? Don't trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost. A wise king scatters the wicked like wheat, then runs his threshing wheel over them. The LORD's light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive. Unfailing love and faithfulness protect the king; his throne is made secure through love. Proverbs 20:24-28
What motivates you? The choice is up to each of us. Choose today whom you will serve.
What motives you? Money or God?
I choose God. He is my motivation.
Prayer – You are my true motivation Lord--Help me to apply Your teachings as motivation in my life.
