Relationship With the Holy Spirit

Prayer – Holy Spirit, You live within me and I am so blessed to have you in my heart and life. You are precious to me. Help me to remember just what Jesus taught, just as He said you would.

We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love. We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense. We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors. We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed. Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything. 2 Corinthians 6:6-10

Meditate. Consider the Holy Spirit’s role in your life.

Dove - the symbol of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is often overlooked, I think, because so much emphasis is put on Jesus and His sacrifice. Anyone who believes in Jesus as their Savior is filled with the Holy Spirit. Do you believe? Do you ever consider the Holy Spirit’s influence on your life? What would a friendship or relationship with the Holy Spirit look like? Would it just ooze with the fruit of the Spirit? I think that because the three parts of the Trinity of God are so interrelated and each defers to the other, their relationships are a good example to us…and through our relationship with the Father and His Son Jesus, we can relate to the Holy Spirit. Fellowship is relational.

But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. 1 John 2:27

The choice is ours—day by day. Do you want to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit? What are you doing to pursue that?

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14

Verse of Salvation ~ As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth. He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
