Relationship With God?

Prayer – Lord God, You are my god—and you are an awesome god worthy of all praise, glory and honor. I want to know more of You and am honored to be part of Your family…and to have a relationship with You.

Temple Mount
Jerusalem, Israel

Who may climb the mountain of the LORD?
Who may stand in his holy place?
Only those whose hands and hearts are pure,
who do not worship idols
and never tell lies.
They will receive the LORD’s blessing
and have a right relationship with God their savior.
Such people may seek you and worship in your presence,
O God of Jacob. Psalm 24:3-6

Meditate. Consider your relationship with God.

Relationship—a connection or friendship. When someone is in a relationship, they grow closer as they know each other better, knowing the other’s hopes, dreams, desires, expectations, and even fears. Just to know each other intimately makes people friends. Who am I to be a friend of God?

And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. James 2:23

To be closely acquainted with someone special like God is humbling—but God wants us to know Him. He wants a relationship with each of us.

You must worship no other gods, for the LORD, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you. 34:14

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5:6-11 (Underlined for emphasis.)

He knows everything about us.
If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread our hands in prayer to foreign gods, God
would surely have known it, for he knows the secrets of every heart. Psalm 44:20-21

It’s up to each of us to determine…to choose…if we have a relationship and how close                                   a connection we have with God. Personally, I choose to know God and have a close,                                   intimate relationship with Him. What level of relationship do you want to have with God?

Verse of Salvation ~ Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God
is for the people of Israel to be saved.
