How Can You Be Released from Sin?

Prayer – Lord, open my eyes and my heart to Your truth and sacrifice for me…for my sin. Thank you for Your obedience. I am helpless without You.

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5:6-11

Meditate. When is the “right time?”

Do you…or have you…ever feel utterly helpless? Is that bridge that you need to cross to meet God wobbly or in need of repair? Is it hidden from plain sight?

You only have to look to the Lord Jesus Christ for safety, security, and hope. By His obedience we are saved, thus securing protection from evil forces that try to attack us—a constant threat on our spiritual life.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

It is likely that those evil powers are the ones making us feel utterly helpless. So Paul’s letter to the Romans in this scripture passage today can give us confidence in our future, if we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior. He gave up a lot—His home in Heaven and His relationship with His Father, temporarily, to take our sins to the cross—so we could be forgiven and pure once again—like the first Adam before the he ate that forbidden fruit and like Jesus. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

How Can You Be Released from Sin? Just believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior.
