Prayer – Lord, above all in my life…I want to be faithful to You in all that I think, say, and do. Feed me spiritually and give me wisdom and insight to apply Your word to my life.
To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity. 2 Samuel 22:26
Meditate. Consider scripture. Read God’s word and grow your
relationship with Him. Listen.
God shows Himself to the faithful--to those who are devoted
to reading His word every day. You can’t
expect your body to grow and be healthy is you don’t feed yourself at least two
or three times a day. How can you expect to grow spiritually if you don’t
“feed” yourself once, twice, or even three times a day? That thought just came
to me, I think via the Holy Spirit, who Jesus said would come to “remind” us of
His teachings. I’d say the Holy Spirit is a pretty good teacher—reminding me of
what I’ve read or heard. Just one sermon a week is pretty weak food to keep us
going and growing spiritually all week. How are you supplementing that? Daily
study? What book are you reading through now? Weekly study with friends or
family? What topic or book of the Bible are you feasting on now? Personally, I’m
reading the book of Acts…yet once again.
Books other than the Bible can be inspiring and give us
insight, but there is nothing like digging into God’s word for yourself. No
matter how many times you read the same verse over a period of time, it speaks
to you in a unique way. Listen to what God is saying.
For the word of God
is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting
between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost
thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is
naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.

Verse of Salvation ~ So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:14-16
