Prayer ~ Lord, sometimes it is hard to see good things coming out of bad, horrific situations. Where is the good in this war in the Ukraine, in child abuse or human trafficking, or even the life and death health issues, loneliness, and isolation of the COVID pandemic? God, You love all of us…and have called us to serve You in some way—for Your purpose—so we will just trust You to bring good from EVERYTHING.
And we know that God causes everything to work
together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his
purpose for them. Romans 8:28
Meditate. Work together. Called according to His purpose.
Truly God is good to
Israel, to those whose hearts are pure. Psalm 73:1
I love God with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength,
but I can’t say that in all my unanswered prayers I can see Him working some
good. There may be good happening that I just can’t see—and God can use bad
situations for His good. Someone commented to me after my sister and her family
were killed, that maybe if they hadn’t died something worse would have happened
to them. What? People make dumb choices—I do that from time to time. The results—natural
consequences—of bad choices can be devastating, disappointing, and definitely not
good. But God. God can use bad choices to bring others to Himself—to cause
people to change their hearts and to rely on Him. That would be good.
Do you allow God to work good in your life from something bad, cruel, or unjust? God causes everything to work together for the
good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Can you accept God—be in a relationship with Him—and let Him work things out
for you? Work together for the good.
Verse of Salvation ~ Open up, O heavens, and pour out
your righteousness. Let the earth open wide so salvation and righteousness can
sprout up together. I, the LORD, created them. Isaiah 45:8
Memory Verse of the Week ~ And we know that God
causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are
called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew 6:24 NLT
